At PPSEL, safety of students is always on the forefront of what we do. We are proud to announce that we have reached an agreement to partner with the award winning BluePoint Alert Solutions to install the BluePoint system at PPSEL. We will be one of only two schools in Southern Colorado to utilize this system. BluePoint provides a Rapid Emergency Response System (RERS), along with a wide variety of support services. The system will utilize an integrated response system that will provide a quicker notification in the event of a police emergency with a clearer path of communication both internally and externally. One way to think about this simply is that we have pull stations in the event of a fire emergency that communicate directly with the Fire Department, and this will provide similar style pull stations in the event of a police emergency. There are many other important details, such as outside monitoring and staff training, as well.
PPSEL is always looking for ways to make sure that our systems are as sound as they can be. The school’s safety team and school board have spent time researching the BluePoint system. We feel this is one more component that we wanted to put into place to ensure that our students are safe and taken care of while in our care.
