To fill in for a teacher during absences
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
The substitute teacher is a person assigned to work in the absence of a regular teacher to aid students in understanding a subject matter, as well as to provide skills required for programmed lessons and purposeful training for the classroom he/she is assigned.
Reports to:
Principal
Job Objectives:
Carries out the absent teacher’s prepared lesson plans. Note: During a prolonged absence as defined by board policy, the substitute is responsible for performing all essential functions identified in the absent teacher’s job description.
REQUIRED DUTIES:
Applicants must hold a teaching license, a substitute license, or a degree from a certified university.

MAJOR FUNCTION:
Lunch and Recess Monitor
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Pikes Peak School of Expeditionary Learning (PPSEL) is seeking a lunch and recess monitor. We are seeking individuals with a positive attitude, strong collaborative skills and a desire to work for the benefit of each child in a unique way.
The position is Monday – Thursday on school days paying $13.65 per hour (or current minimum wage, whichever is higher). The hours are 10:45-1:15.
The lunch and recess monitor will be in charge of setting up and taking down the cafeteria, cleaning the cafeteria, and monitoring students indoors and outdoors.
Position requires lifting of approximately 20 pounds, bending over, and walking. The monitor will be outdoors in all kinds of weather. Must be able to handle child noise, as well.
